The Minnesota Farm Bureau (MFB) will again have “Minnesota Farmers CARE – Animals • Environment • Food • Family – Committed to Agriculture while Respecting the Earth” exhibit for the 2013 Minnesota State Fair. Also included in this year’s display is the Ag Cab Lab – Combine and Tractor and a taco salad garden.
The MFB state fair building is located at 1305 Underwood Street, directly across from the Food Building and behind the giant slide.
Minnesota Farmers CARE
This year’s “Minnesota Farmers CARE – Animals • Environment • Food • Family – Committed to Agriculture while Respecting the Earth” display will present facts about the four key corners of agriculture, and how farmers are involved in each step to feed your family.
Explore interactive exhibits such as the taco salad garden, talk with a real farmer about their farm and ask questions about agriculture. You may also read new fun facts about agriculture, complete an educational scavenger hunt and win a thermal lunch bag.
Ag Cab Lab – Tractor and Combine
The Case IH Ag Cab Lab – Combine looks like a combine, sounds like a combine and fair attendees can “drive” the combine in the field through a gaming feature. State fair visitors are invited to take a ride and collect a certificate at the end of the ride.
The Case IH Ag Cab Lab – Tractor will be on display at the CHS Miracle of Birth Center and is located on the Coliseum side of the building (on the right as you enter through the silo).
Story Time and Prizes
Each weekday of the fair, excluding Labor Day, there will be story time in the Farm Bureau building at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Three featured Minnesota-connected authors will read their agriculture stories. Children can have the opportunity to register to win one of these books each day of the fair. Adults may register to win a rain barrel.
